2010 Art in the Park Art Project  PHOTO GALLERY

This year’s Art in the Downtown Project is called Art in the Park and will be done by the children in the Pewaukee Park and Rec Summer Program.  It will be an interactive and educational program with hands-on experience where practicing local artists join the staff and children at the park to demonstrate different art mediums. Children will learn about the history and application of each type of art and will create their own art projects. The children will then have the opportunity to showcase their art at the following downtown merchants:

Pewaukee Library    210 Main St

The permanent art piece for 2010 Art in the Downtown project will be stepping stones created by the children and put on permanent display at Village and City Halls and the Pewaukee Library in their gardens.

Hands on Art Festival

Take a stroll through downtown Pewaukee for this one of- a-kind art experience. The event will feature hands on mini-workshops taught by practicing local artists, sand sculpting, face painting, food and entertainment.

Children’s Art in the Park program artworks will be on display. Kids and adults are welcome to experience art mediums such as pottery or sculpture, weaving, painting, abstract art and more. This festival is a great opportunity to open your mind to new experiences and creative adventures through imagination. Activities run continuously during the four-hour event. Admission to the event is FREE. Art experience tickets may be purchased for a small fee on site. Join us rain or shine!

PEWAUKEE SUMMER SNAPSHOTS
 AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST ages 6 – adult

The rules for this community-wide contest are simple: as you enjoy your parks, facilities and recreation programs, capture these moments on your camera! Photos must be taken at Pewaukee Parks within the dates of May 1 and July 9, 2010. Finalists in each age category will be featured at the Hands On Art Festival in downtown Pewaukee, Friday, August 6th. In addition, the top three photographs for each age group will be framed and displayed at Pewaukee Village Hall or Pewaukee City Hall for one year.
